Ministries

Nursery Care: 0-3 yr olds

"Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." ~ Matt 19:14

For every service we have trained helpers who watch your younger children. This is not only a time for you to enjoy the services without distractions, but also a time for your children to engage in fun Bible stories and lessons that they will enjoy.

Each parent is given a pager for their child in case of emergency. Fortunately, this service is rarely needed.

King's Kids: 4-12 yr olds

"Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers."
~ 1 Tim 4:12

Our grade school and middle school children are served through the King's Kids ministry. Our purpose is to evangelize children, to disciple them for spiritual growth, to teach them God's truth, to train them to serve Jesus Christ, and provide multiple opportunities through the local church.

Youth Ministry: 7-12 grades

"Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers."
~ 1 Tim 4:12

The Vision Baptist youth ministry is designed to help junior high and high school students grow their faith, their character, and their relationships. It’s about creating an atmosphere that is Christ-focused where they can belong. We encourage our Vision Baptist youth to be involved in everything we do from inviting, participating in activities and serving.

Young Adults: Pairs & Spares

"And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." ~ Prov 18:34

Pairs & Spares is a Christ-centered group of young adults ages 18-40 with a desire to grow as Christians and individuals.

We enjoy practical, Bible based preaching, exciting fellowship with believers in our age category, and opportunities to serve the Lord in our local church.

This ministry is led by Jon & Lateisha Jones. Contact them here for more information.

Women's Ministry: Ladies of Grace

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
~ Matt 18:20

A ministry for divorced and widowed ladies who meet together every month to encourage one another other as they engage in fun and exciting activities around the Port Huron area.

Addictions Ministry: Reformers Unanimous

Reformers Unanimous is a Local Church Addictions Program To recruit and restore health to those held captive to such devices that cripple the effectiveness of spiritual abundance, moral sufficiency, and social acceptability (Stubborn habits and addictions).

Students are upheld in prayer, instructed in Biblical truth, educated through a working curriculum and award based performance requirements all the while gaining effectual support through Christian fellowship and Godly leadership.

Nursing Home Ministry

"With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding."
~ Job 12:12

The Nursing Home Ministry is a ministry that allows us to bring the love of Christ to individuals that are no longer able to travel to a traditional setting.

Each Sunday we present a full service in their facilities, providing Christ's love and compassion to all through music and God's Word.

Sunday School Ministry

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
~ Matthew 28:20

Our 25+ Sunday School classes provide a structure for teaching God's Word while also gearing Bible teaching to specific age groups.

Discipleship is "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:20)  As the main discipleship arm of Vision Baptist Church, our Sunday School classes don't simply teach facts, but also obedience to God's Word!

Bus Ministry

"And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."
~ Luke 14:23

The Bus Ministry is a ministry devoted to reaching lost souls for Christ. We currently run 5 routes in the surrounding Columbus and Canal Area picking up adults and children from all stages of life.

Nearly 200 riders attend every Sunday morning with many returning Sunday and Wednesday evenings. Special interest is shown in all of our riders each week.

Special Needs Ministry: Gems & Jewels

"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
~ Matthew 25:40

Gems & Jewels is a ministry to our special needs children and adults. We have 20-30 faithful attendees who we are able to minister directly to their special needs.

Week after week these precious lives are hearing the Word of God and experiencing the love of Christ through faithful ministers from VBC.

Shut-in Ministry: Care to Share

"For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward."
~ Mark 9:41

The Care To Share Ministry is where we take our Church services to those whose health prevents them from coming as often as they would like.

Every week those who need this ministry are brought copies of our messages and they are visited and prayed with so that they can still feel a part of our church.

Deaf Ministry

"And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit..."
~ Mark 4:20

The VBC Deaf Ministry supports the deaf members of our church and community. We desire to reach out to all deaf people, to share the Gospel, to grow in discipleship, and to provide spiritual growth for the deaf community.

In order for this to happen, we encourage our Deaf members to be actively involved in our worship gathering, belong to a Sunday School class, and be involved as much as possible in our church’s ministries.

Shandra Blevins provides live sign language interpretation or our church services.

World Missions

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
~ Matthew 28:19

The purpose of world missions is to spread a passion for the supremacy of God into people groups where there is no indigenous, evangelizing church.

Vision Baptist Church still believes that the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19 is not only still relevant today, but it is still our top priority.

Food Pantry Ministry

"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:"
~ Matthew 25:35

We have a church food pantry which distributes food staples to our church people in need.

Bro. Bud Robinson runs our bread and pastry route and distributes treats to our bus ministry and the needy in the Columbus/Ashville/Canal Winchester areas.
